Path of Exile Item Upgrades

The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be enhanced by upgrading their performance. They can be a good source of additional damage or more AD or even more affixes.

Rare-grade equipment is often superior to upgraded Common or Magic gear due to their higher requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They improve the effectiveness of the item they are attached to.  official website  to armor are available in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Alternately, they can be salvaged from items that have upgrade components in them with a professional or higher salvage kit.

The amount of damage that an armored item or weapon will absorb is contingent on the extent of its upgrades. The upgrade of an armor piece to its highest upgrade level will increase the damage it absorbs. It is important to note that this will increase the weight of the armor, which means it should be heavier.

There are several kinds of armor upgrades available in the game, and they all have distinct effects. For example, some upgrades will grant the armor a certain amount of additional health points, while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the armor upgrade will indicate the kind of upgrade the item can receive, as shown below.

Some upgrades also feature magic or a hybrid of technology and magic, which is shown by the "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Furthermore, some upgrades require a charge to use, which is shown by an "Charges" entry in the table below. These charges are constantly updated or never expire based on the upgrade.

The cheapest way to upgrade armor is by using Iron Ore, which can be found through exploring the surroundings and looting minor loot chests. Titanium is more expensive, however, it is available at the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be used on armor pieces of the highest level. These upgrades can provide significant boost to performance and are worth the cost, especially for single-handed weapons.

The player should be aware, however, that upgrading a piece to the max upgrade level will increase its defense value. However, it can also decrease its agility and its speed. Therefore, it is generally not recommended to upgrade armor pieces that are higher than +9 since the defensive boost gained is usually not worth the extra weight and power costs of the improvements required.

Weapon upgrades allow players to improve the effectiveness of certain aspects of an weapon. Upgrades can improve the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells do. Certain firearms also have enhancements that enhance their intrinsic characteristics. The more bars needed to complete an upgrade, the more advanced the level. The cost of upgrading will be less if you have more than one of the upgrade materials.

In Chapter 2: Season 5, the ways to upgrade your equipment and weapon sets has changed a bit. Previously you could search for an Upgrade Bench and pay a set number of Bars to upgrade your weapon or equipment to a higher quality. You could do this until your weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level and at that point, the upgrades would reset.

You can still do this however, the process is high on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're better off visiting stores and buying gear with low upgrade levels but excellent base scores and stat distributions. These items have a better likelihood of granting you highest tier blessings and perks.

To improve their skills faster, many players prioritise upgrading their weapons. Players should also upgrade the weapons their squadmates use to boost their strength. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R to enhance its effectiveness when accompanied by biotech specialists such as Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels are utilized in the sockets of armor and weapons, enhancing the power of a character and bringing about secondary effects. Jewelry crafting is a method for making them, in which you combine gemstones with specific reagents in a jewelry table. The higher the level of the jewel the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained around the world from Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and, sometimes, by salvaging Legendary equipment. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.

Using more jewels in the movement can make it feel more comfortable and is typically used to enhance the aesthetics of the movement. Apart from improving performance, the diamonds create a surface that is harder than metal, which means that repeated friction with pivots doesn't cause harm as easily.

In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades, the player can also acquire glyphs for their weapons and shields from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs provide a small boost and can be freely exchanged, however they are not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs, like jewelry, can be upgraded at the Jeweler to exchange gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs are also removed from the inventory, and they are returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as aegis and traits, are not swappable, and are only recoverable by using an Upgrade Extractor or salvaging them with Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets are small pieces of equipment that provide a wide range of small but useful advantages to your hero. They can be acquired starting in the beginning areas as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, and through doing road interactions. They may also be crafted by jewelers, and found or purchased from the Trading Post.

The first trinket a player will unlock is the cloak. It gives a small but valuable boost in speed of movement and the ability to evade. The player can then acquire rings, amulets and necklaces in a similar manner similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with an upgrade slot that is either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades provide smaller bonuses and can be put into any kind of equipment while jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded, and is only compatible with specific types of trinkets.

These trinkets can also grant buffs and skills that remain active when the hero is not in combat. This enables the hero to be more effective when not active, and can also help to compensate for the absence of a solid team or the absence of any talent tree slots that would normally be filled with the hero's ideal statistics.

As a rule trinket upgrades should be a priority BiS (Best in Slot) items that you aren't likely to replace anytime soon. Next, any items with desirable statistics that aren't as significant as the iLevel for the item that is to be upgraded. This is true especially if you're looking to upgrade several stats on an item. It's best to upgrade just one crucial stat instead of two subpar ones.

At the beginning of the game, junglers will usually want to upgrade their yellow trinket into a red one, while top and middle players usually choose the pink or green ward (depending on the game's matchup). These choices can affect a hero's ability to control the map.

Aside from the items listed above, players can also find a number of other trinkets in the game in the form of awards and trophies. These can be earned by completing certain milestones in the story. For example, completing the main quest of a chapter or beating a boss. These achievements can be seen by selecting the relevant achievement in the reward tab of the hero menu.
